Occupational Therapy Student Placements

In 2025, CLSS hosted two students for two distinct but related projects.

One was to develop a student learning needs assessment intake tool for CLSS. Its primary goal was to identify student needs rooted in inclusive, non-deficit language that avoids pathologizing students.

The second project introduced OT-based facilitation into existing CLSS group session frameworks, as an approach to supporting students with complex learning challenges for whom traditional learning strategy interventions have limited effect.

In both cases, the OT students were able to practice their craft by working with student peers under the guidance of the learning strategist staff members.

Objective: 3.5
