Collaborations with Partners on Student Intersectionality
The panel on Gender Expansive Joy & Neurodivergence, developed and moderated in partnership with the Sexual Gender and Diversity Office (SGDO) and Accessibility Services, highlighted the overlap between neurodivergence and 2SLGBTQ+, with 71% of students registered with Accessibility Services identifying as 2SLGBTQ+.
In collaboration with SGDO, this event included recruiting panel members, designing innovative and thoughtful questions, and advertising across U of T to promote the event as part of the Gender Expansive Joy series.
The event was successful as it highlighted key themes among student identities, including the important intersectionality between disability and gender. The event was moderated in person, which allowed for discussion, experience-sharing and community-building within the Multi Faith Centre.
