Global Leadership Minor

Having obtained governance approval in participating divisions in 2021–2022, the Minor in Global Leadership was fully operational for the first cohort in fall 2023, admitting 31 students as members of the first cohort.

The first core course within the Minor focused on Global Leadership: Past, Present, Futures. The second and third core courses focus on Theory, Research and Practice, and a Capstone Project. All the coursework for the first core course was completed online throughout the semester.

Co-curricular experiences for the cohort included an in-person orientation held at UTM, an in-person concluding event at the end of the semester, as well as a leadership talk from Emily Tsui, a foreign service officer at Global Affairs Canada, all planned to bring cohort members together for cohesion and networking.

The minor began recruiting students for its second cohort in March, with the application deadline set for early June.
