Spiritual Care Model – Faith Leaders

Over the last few years, a Tri-Campus Spiritual Care Review was conducted by the Multi-Faith Centre on how to best support students as they explore matters of faith, spirituality and culture.

Good practices were examined from comparator institutions and Multi-Faith received feedback from the community. Based on this feedback, the team launched a tri-campus approach to how the University of Toronto supports co-curricular interfaith education.

The unit has engaged a team of Faith Leaders from a variety of different backgrounds to uphold inter and intra-faith and cultural plurality, and to serve as resources to the community on matters of faith.

This initiative provides culturally responsive programs, services and resources that embody a culture of care. There is now clarity and a better approach to providing spiritual care to students.

Objective: 2.4

Provide and promote culturally responsive programs, services, and resources that embody a culture of care, and supports students at all points along the mental health continuum (from mental well-being to urgent crisis).
