Career Networking Nights (Black Student & Alumni, 2SLGBTQ+ Students & Alumni)

The Student & Alumni Career Networking Nights held at the Experiential Learning Commons are designed to foster community and connection, increase a sense of hope and provide identity-informed career supports.

The 2024-25 offerings were successful in facilitating meaningful professional networking between alumni mentors and student/recent graduate participants, while also creating space for students to form personal connections with one another.

By centering the voices and experiences of students from specific communities, these offerings encourage dialogue, allyship and resource sharing to support students in exploring how their identities shape their career interests, pathways and values. The events also introduced students to effective wayfinding for continued supports available to them.

Collaborative efforts:

Black Student & Alumni Career Networking Night was the result of a partnership between the Division of University Advancement (DUA), Career Exploration & Education, Black Student Engagement and the Black Students’ Association.

2SLGBTQ+ Student & Alumni Career Networking Night was the result of a longstanding and continued partnership between the Division of University Advancement (DUA), Career Exploration & Education and the Sexual & Gender Diversity Office.
