“International Conversation With…” Sessions

In The “International Conversation With…” series, first established in winter 2021, has continued to grow in interest amongst the international student and international alumni community who seek to understand global experiences and their impact. In the past year, the CIE has been able to establish an alumni outreach workflow with the Division of University Advancement (DUA) to identify potential alumni speakers for various programs and events, such as the International Alumni Panel and the International Conversation With… series. The program has hosted 16 sessions with the 2023 – 2024 cycle hosting prolific alumni speaking to themed sessions such as:

  • Indigenous Voices: Riley Yesno
  • Global Entrepreneurship: Sarang Nerkar
  • Engineering for Social Impact: Ross Jatou
  • Elevating Tomorrow’s Leaders: Derrick Raphael
  • Success Through Balance: Avivah Wittenberg-Cox

There was a 28 per cent increase in registration for the International Conversation With… (seminar series) and a 23 per cent increase in attendance showcasing the importance and interest in exploring global career opportunities.

Thank you very much for hosting the conversation with Avivah Wittenberg-Cox this week. It was a very interesting and insightful conversation to listen to. I want to especially thank that this event was open to alumni as I always enjoy connecting with U of T events.
