Global Learning Case Competition

The University of Toronto proudly hosted the fourth annual virtual Global Learning Case Competition (GLCC) from February 20 to 22, 2024. This exciting event brought together students from around the world, with more than 50 teams from 20 different countries. The competition gave students a chance to show their problem-solving skills, creativity and teamwork by tackling real-world challenges.

Participants spent two days collaborating with their teams to brainstorm and design innovative, equitable and accessible solutions. This year’s theme focused on finding solutions to new challenges presented by artificial intelligence (AI). On the third day, teams presented their concepts to a panel of judges, with the top three teams sharing a prize of $5,000.

The diverse range of topics included sustainability, technology, healthcare and social impact, reflecting the global nature of the issues at hand. Teams were judged by a panel of esteemed industry experts and academics who provided valuable feedback and insights.

The 2024 Global Learning Case Competition celebrated academic excellence and encouraged global cooperation and innovation. It demonstrated the power of collaborative learning and the potential of future leaders to make a positive impact on the world. The online participation in this experiential learning event enabled greater access for students from around the world from their home campuses. This aligns with the University’s strategic goal of supporting student growth and development, especially through hands-on learning experiences that encourage civic and social engagement in diverse communities.
